[ Volcano Etna |Etna Outbreak 2002-2003 | Lava | Volcano Outbreak Videos ] |
|||||||||
|
In the 4 month that i observed the diffrent explosionforms in the active time of the volcano,
i tried to distinguish them with certain diffrent names.
The names that i have choosen for the diffrent kind of explosionforms are without any
scientific background i selected them freely after my impression that i mentioned.
I think that it is important to say that each explosion do not be similar to another.
It is much rather so that each day supports you with new photos of the eruptiv phase.
Sometimes the explosions differ very strongly on other days they seem really similar.

Day reception-volcano outbreak, October 2002 |
|
|
In this film, you see how enormous quantities of ash which the etna
hurled up several kilometers in the air during his active time on october 2002 since february 2003.
On this volcano outbreak was formed a several kilometers long smoke cloud which reached far to
the arabic emirates.
The east coast of catania was regular buried by the masses of volcano ash.

Volcano outbreak Etna ends October 2002 |
|
|
Regarding is better as to describe what is happening in this film.
Such measurements are
not to be grasped into words.
Here you can see the enormous smoke development during
the explosions on the year 2002.
These receptions emerged ca 1 week after the first outbreak on october, there
you can imagine what a power is behind such volcanoes.

Night reception-volcano outbreak Etna - October 2002 |
|
|
In this film you can see high but not the highest
Lava fontains of the active time on october 2002.
There i observed the diffrent explosionforms for more
then 4 month i tried to give them several characteristics names.
The Explosionform in this film i called "Candle explosion".
The Lava fontains are shot uncannily thinly and long into the height.
The receptions emerged at night several kilometers away, because at day you didn't see more then smoke and ash, further receptions follows... |
|
Etna volcano outbreak in November 2002 |
|
|
Here are presented receptions which i have made on november 2002.
I called that type of explosion "Durationfire", the explaination about that
was that the explosions came up in really short intervalls with less pause.
Therefor you can see clearly how lava rocks were hurled in the air.
I think it was really coldly on that day of the tip of the etna and so the Magma
at the surface cooled off faster and lump was hurled out of it.
The explosions weren't high like otherwise, however wider and more intensive.

Etna volcano outbreak in December 2002-"big one" |
|
|
Here you see the "big one". A Explosion that i recept on december 2002.
I called that ouotbreak "big one" because the explosions got on this day special measurements.
Thick, high and also wide explosions followed jutted that far into the sky.
I mean that this was one of the highest fontains where around, but it could probably be that someone else got better receptions
from a diffrent perspective (to note: that i took that receptions from far away)
Not each day you were able to take receptions, because often fog,
clouds or ash impeded the visibility.
One can estimate my position based on the
day of reception.
Therefor you can clearly see how lava rocks were hurled out up in the sky.
The explosions were very high and intensive.

Ätna volcano outbreak on 22 November 2002 "bad one" |
|
|
That reception from the 22 november 2002 which i filmed on the island i called
"bad one" because, that explosion on this evening was really strong, and
had very violent pressure.
This volcano outbreak was special for me and my brother, because it appears
suddenly after some smaller explosions.
The lava chunks of this explosion which were hurled high in the air,
needed a lot of time to fell back on the ground.
Unfortunately I had in this moment no tripod
and it was very cold and so are the receptions
not even sharpen. The explosion was very sudden
and unexpected and accordingly also with much pressure.

|
Ätna volcano outbreak at the 25 November 2002 -" double flame" |
|
|
Etna volcano outbreak 2002 - "double flame"
was filmed on the 25th november 2002.
I called that explosion "double flame" because at this evening the volcano
opens one further opening.
The lava shot out of two craters at the tip. A third crater was even lefter
but that one isn't good enough see on this receptions.
That volcano outbreak shows many diffrent faces, all the day there was a change of the tip of the volcano and also on the
flanks.
Sometimes it seem that the volcano would crumble apart.
Often the etna was surrounded by dense clouds and you wasn't able to see anything, and on otherdays or
if a strong wind blews you could take receptions like this one.
more receptions will be published the next weeks.... |
